Generally, refunds are offered for cancellations made well in advance of the departure date, with decreasing refund amounts as the departure date approaches. Some tours, like Alaska Cruise & Tour/Panama Canal Cruise, have more complex refund structures with separate percentages for cruise fare and airfare.
Here’s a breakdown of cancellation policies for some specific tour types: Motor Coach Tours (USA/Canada): 46 days or more before departure: Full refund. 45-31 days before departure: 30% of the tour cost is retained. 30-16 days before departure: 70% of the tour cost is retained. 15 days to the day of departure: No refund
