Academic Policies
Students are evaluated on a combination of oral and written presentations, classroom and field
workshops participation, assignments, examinations, homework, and training course interaction.
Grading (subjective and objective) is as follows:
A = 90 - 100 (Strongly recommended for Tour Management)
B = 85 - 89 (Recommended for Tour Management)
C = 80 - 84 (Marginally qualified/not recommended for Tour Management or admission to Level II)
D = Below 80 (Unsatisfactory)
I = (Incomplete)
Attendance:
Because of its intensity and the importance of continuity, you are expected to attend all class
and fieldwork sessions. No credit for previous experience will be granted. You will be required
to make arrangements to make up absences through the use of audiotapes and tutoring.
Certification:
You must attain a passing grade in all subjects to successfully complete the training. To recognize
your achievement after successful completion of Level I and Level II, you will be awarded a
certificate confirming your competence to be a professional Tour Director/Guide.
Retention of Records:
The school retains all student records at its administrative headquarters for an indefinite period
of time, and not less than seven years.
Dismissal Policy:
Dismissals are considered remote, but the Institute reserves the right to dismiss a student on any
of the following grounds: conduct detrimental to the reputation of the Institute or its students,
incomplete work, unsatisfactory attendance, and/or poor physical or mental health. A refund will
then be made in accordance with the refund policies outlined in this document.
ITMI Cancellation and Withdrawal Refund Policies
Registration Fee: The registration fee of $50 is refundable in full until such time the student is
accepted into the course and signs the ITMI contract.
Tuition Fees: The ITMI training program is offered as two separate courses, Level I and Level II,
each with the same cancellation/ withdrawal and refund conditions. These conditions, stipulated by
the State of California BPPVE Reform Act, Section Seven #94820, 94869 and 94870, are as follows:
The student has the right to cancel the enrollment agreement and obtain a refund in accordance with
the conditions outlined below. Cancellation will occur when the student gives written notice of
cancellation/ withdrawal to the school at the administrative office listed on this site. Notice of
cancellation should be addressed to Ted Bravos, CTP.
The student has a right to a full refund of tuition and material charges if he/she cancels this
agreement prior to, or on the first day (Monday) of instruction. For withdrawals received after
midnight of the first day and prior to completing 60% of each Level's course work, the student will
receive a pro-rata refund of the tuition for the remaining portion of that Level. The quotient for
the refund is based on an hourly charge. There is no refund for withdrawals after the student has
completed 60% of the course work.
Syllabus and Classroom Materials: If a student returns the class materials in good condition within
10 days following his/her withdrawal, the school shall refund the charge for materials.
Course Cancellation: If the school cancels or discontinues a course or educational program, the
school will make a full refund of all charges. Refunds will be paid within 30 days of cancellation
or withdrawal.
